Fees
Speech therapy, like any professional health service, can be expensive and is unfortunately not covered by OHIP. However, many private health insurance plans provide annual allotments to cover speech therapy services. In addition, government funds exist to assist children enrolled in the private school system to take advantage of speech therapy sessions through your local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC).
For a list of several CCAC providers please click on Speech Links or click on www.oaccac.on.ca/index.php to find the CCAC centre nearest to you.
In general, speech therapy sessions are billed at a rate of $110/hr. Many children quite understandably cannot maintain attention for a full hour and so sessions can be scheduled for 30 or 45 minute lengths and billed accordingly. A small surcharge is applied if Dana travels to your child’s home or school bringing the hourly rate up to $120.00/hr. Additional charges may also apply if a written report is required. Receipts will be provided and parents are encouraged to seek reimbursement through their private health insurer.
If you are interested in an in-service training session for your school, nursery or daycare, please contact Dana to discuss the specific needs of your organization. |
